Webinar

This workshop aims to help parents understand their child’s sensory needs and explore strategies that can help with sensory regulation.

Let’s explore the sensory needs of our children and possible strategies that can help with sensory regulation

Children with sensory processing challenges respond differently to sight, sound, taste, smell and touch. The environment at home, school or in the community can affect their behaviour, social interactions and development.

For example, a child who is undersensitive may enjoy lots of movement and hugging others. Sitting still and concentrating can be a challenge. A child who is oversensitive can find it hard to go to busy, brightly-lit places. They may want to avoid noisy activities and sounds.

This workshop aims to help parents understand their child’s sensory needs and explore strategies that can help with sensory regulation.

Come along to explore:

  • The differences between sensory seekers and avoiders
  • Identifying challenging behaviours due to unmet sensory needs
  • Tips on how to create a sensory-sensitive environment
  • Strategies for transitions and regulating your child
