Support your child to thrive at school and develop effective learning goals with educators

Support your child to thrive at school and develop effective learning goals with educators

Encouraging children to become independent young adults and voice their opinions is an important role for parents. How can we nurture this at school for relevant and achievable learning outcomes for children with disability or developmental delay?

Parents’ opinions are usually included in developing learning plans with educators, but without the child’s participation, the goals developed may not use the child’s strengths and interests for the best outcomes. It’s never too early to start giving children opportunities to make choices.

Now & Next School is an evidence-based program to discover your child’s strengths, coach them to make choices and enhance collaboration with educators for an effective Individual Education Plan.

The four-session program is based on positive psychology, the science of wellbeing and our Child Voice model (Mahmic & Janson, 2019).

Learn about:

  • Achieving better outcomes by working in partnership with educators
  • Coaching your child to use their strengths to achieve goals
  • Practical strategies for improving your child’s wellbeing
  • Taking a proactive role in developing your child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • Fostering your child’s independent decision-making through our Child Voice model and resources

Receive a report tailored to your child and parenting style to use in Goal Builder, a resource you can bring to planning meetings or IEPs. It ensures that your child’s strengths and wellbeing are embedded in planning for good outcomes.

What is our Child Voice model?
